01 Important Notice: Cattle Grazing at the Indiangrass Preserve

The Indiangrass Preserve is currently undergoing cattle grazing as part of land management activities. Grazing will continue for approximately 2–3 weeks.

Important Access Information

  • The gate will remain closed during this period

  • Visitors may access the preserve by gate code only

  • Please call or email for access information

Safety Notice

  • Cattle are present on site

  • Do not approach or pet the cattle

  • Please leave all cattle undisturbed

  • The building, nursery, and parking lot are fenced and closed to public access

02 Register for “Roots and Range - Stewarding Working Lands of the Coastal Prairie”

This adult education workshop is offered through the Texas Coastal Prairie Initiative, a collaborative effort with regional partners led by the Coastal Prairie Conservancy to advance land stewardship, habitat restoration, and resilient working lands across the Texas coastal prairie.

Designed for landowners, land managers, and conservation practitioners, this hands-on workshop blends indoor presentations with outdoor demonstrations and field-based learning, including a grassland restoration tour, calculating your grazing needs, a prescribed fire demonstration, and more.

Refreshments and lunch are provided. $40 registration fee.
