Volunteer
Make a difference – volunteer with the Coastal Prairie Conservancy!
Are you looking for an opportunity to do your part for the prairie? Without the support and hard work of our generous volunteers, the Coastal Prairie Conservancy would not be where it is today. Volunteers play a tremendous role with helping to protect and preserve the prairie. It’s also a wonderful time for you to connect with nature and other passionate volunteers!
For more information about volunteering with the Coastal Prairie Conservancy please contact Debbie at volunteer@coastalprairieconservancy.org.
How to Get Started
Start by filling out a Volunteer Application Form, and let us know what you’d like to do first!
Join our volunteer opportunities email list to receive updates about projects — make sure to check the Volunteer box.
Check our Event Calendar and the Opportunity Pages below for upcoming Volunteer Orientation and training opportunities.
Sign up for a Volunteer Orientation. These are offered every September and February. (Note: Orientations are not required to volunteer! We encourage long-term volunteers to complete an orientation within their first year of volunteering.) Our next orientation is coming up this winter, February 2025, at Indiangrass Preserve.

The Coastal Prairie Conservancy's policy on working with minors
Minors 16 years and older are welcome to volunteer for the Coastal Prairie Conservancy. We also enjoy working with our younger friends when parents or chaperones are also available to volunteer with them. Volunteers under the age of 18 must gain permission from a legal guardian in order to volunteer. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times when volunteering for the Coastal Prairie Conservancy.
For youth-focused volunteer groups, we ask for an adult chaperone to minor ratio of 1:10. We also ask that each minor’s parent register and complete our waiver for their child in advance. Please contact us at volunteer@coastalprairieconservancy.org to learn more.
