Below are questions we often get asked about the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, our preserves, and our programs. If your question isn’t answered below, please contact us.

Public hunting is not available on the Katy Prairie Preserve at this time. Please check back next year as we hope to again partner with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to provide space for public hunting. Annual public hunting permits for other locations throughout Texas are available on the TPWD website.

The staff and volunteers of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy are pleased to give presentations on the work of the organization. Please email info@coastalprairieconservancy.org to inquire about availability.

Eagle Scouts with prior volunteer experience on a Coastal Prairie Conservancy preserve are welcome to work with us on an Eagle Scout project. Please contact bfoshee@coastalprairieconservancy.org for more information.

The Coastal Prairie Conservancy welcomes schools and other groups for field trips on the prairie. To inquire about field trips, please fill out the Field Trip Request Form.

After spearheading the Pocket Prairie Program for a number of years, the Coastal Prairie Conservancy is passing the baton to the Native Prairies Association of Texas as they continue this program for students throughout the region.
