Williams Prairie

Williams Prairie is a small preserve at eleven acres, but this rare, remnant prairie hosts impressive biodiversity since it has never been plowed or developed. This property was the Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s first conservation easement in 1997 and was later donated to the organization by the Williams family.

The preserve features a mowed trail winding through native prairie and depressional wetlands, along with scattered live oaks, loblolly pines, and clusters of cedar and yaupon holly. Today, the preserve is surrounded by the Pecan Hill subdivision, and neighbors generously volunteer to help us maintain this special natural area. View Williams Prairie’s iNaturalist page to explore the many species that call this preserve home.
