“How Does Your Prairie Grow?” Native Plants Talk via Zoom

Ever wonder what exactly grows in a prairie? Iris Poteet of the Coastal Prairie Conservancy will focus on native and non-native plants found in the coastal prairie landscape with some discussion on selectively working to control non-native invasive species.

Iris Poteet serves as a board member for the Coastal Prairie Conservancy, formerly known as Katy Prairie Conservancy. Since 1999, she has devoted volunteer efforts to preserving the Katy Prairie. After a 34-year banking career, Iris retired in 2017, joined NPSOT and completed levels 1 & 3 of its native landscaping program. As a Texas Master Naturalist since 2018, Iris focuses her advanced training and volunteer hours on all things prairie, and devotes most of her time at CPC’s Katy Prairie Preserve.

Hosted by the Environmental Institute of Houston, University of Houston-Clear Lake. Participants must register for the Zoom meeting in advance.
