• Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

• Park on County Rd 255 (Orozimbo Rd.) and walk across the street to the prairie. We will meet at the start of the gravel road - the red marker on this map.

• Experienced seed collectors: after you sign in and sign the necessary liability waivers, you may start.

• For new seed collectors and those who would like some instructions, I will give basic seed collecting instructions, show how to collect, ID plants, and let you know, the seeds that the Coastal Prairie Conservancy needs.  

• Plant list for Nash Prairie at this link (pp. 686-690) and in the Addendum (pp. 381-382), both of which are downloadable.

General Instructions

• Everyone is welcome!

• Except for UH Coastal Center, you may collect for Coastal Prairie Conservancy, for any other non-profit organization, or for your own personal use.

• Please bring water in a reusable bottle, pruners or scissors, a pen, and a bucket or a reusable grocery bag. Some supplies are available if needed.

• Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt. We recommend you bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, a snack for yourself, a camera, and binoculars, if you are a birder.

• Paper bags for the seeds to be collected and water refills will be available.
