Join us for our monthly nature hike on the Katy Prairie Preserve! This month’s theme is “Nature Detectives.” Animal signs and plant patterns all tell a story about who these organisms are and what role they play in the prairie environment. We'll use investigative tools like our senses and guide books to crack the clues left by prairie inhabitants.
Enjoy a guided hike through the prairie, exploring different areas each month
Observe and learn about wildflowers, insects, and birds
Finish with pond dip-netting at the prairie potholes
All ages are welcome. We'll start with a brief overview and safety talk. Please wear outdoor clothing including sun/insect protection and close-toed shoes (high socks/boots preferred). Please also bring a water bottle. Binoculars and cameras are welcome. Rain or shine!
No registration needed.
