Elisa Donovan, Vice President and General Counsel, oversees the Coastal Prairie Conservancy’s legal matters, administration, programs, and strategic planning. Elisa has led multiple land conservation projects and structuring projects, and has successfully advocated for the protection of natural and agricultural lands in the Texas Gulf Coast Region.

She brings a depth of legal expertise to the Coastal Prairie Conservancy with over 20 years of experience handling business, real estate, and energy matters before joining the organization and redirecting her career to fulfill her long standing passion for the protection of wildlife habitat. 

Elisa is a member of the San Jacinto Regional Flood Planning Group and serves on the Board of Directors of the Rice Engineering Alumni Association and Texas Land Trust Council. She received a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Rice University and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Elisa enjoys working and relaxing on the family farm with her husband and three boys, and is an avid cyclist and citizen scientist.
